Restoring neglected cemeteries with care and respect.
Tennessee Historic Graveyard Preservation and Conservation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to cleaning and maintaining neglected cemeteries. We use D/2 biological solution, approved for government monuments, to gently clean headstones. Our team removes brush, overgrowth, weeds, and grass to restore the cemetery grounds. We also mark veteran graves with small flags to honor their service.
Help us continue to clean neglected cemeteries by making a donation to Tennessee Historic Graveyard Preservation and Conservation Services. Together we can make a difference.
Any donations go directly toward the cleanup and preservation of cemeteries.
Your donation will help us to continue our mission. We need cleaning supplies and items to help us continue our mission of cemetery cleanup throughout the region.

Roadman Cemetery, also known as Old Town Cemetery, is one of the oldest cemeteries in Cocke County, TN. It holds the graves of many of the early settlers and founders. Neglected for years, we have partnered with Maj. James T. Huff Camp #2243 Sons of Confederate Veterans and local volunteers to clean and restore this cemetery.
The Read Family Cemetery was relocated by Tennessee Valley Authority for the flooding of Cherokee Lake. The cemetery is now on the grounds of Camp Davy Crockett in Hamblen County, TN. It holds the graves of several family members, including a Revolutionary War soldier and two War of 1812 soldiers. It needs to be cleaned up and the old fence needs to be taken down and replaced.
Located in Hamblen County, TN, Dodson Cemetery has been neglected for several years. It needs to be cleaned up because of an overgrowth of vines, trees and bushes. Several headstones must be set back in place and then cleaned. The cemetery holds the graves of many veterans, including those of a Revolutionary War soldier and Civil War soldiers.
